Kalon rubbed his eyes as he stared at the screens in front of him, flicking a pen over and back through his fingers, he watched the signal virtually bounce around the globe. Fritz knocked his knuckles on the desk beside him, causing him to jump.

“Sorry boss, what did you say?”

“What have you got?”

“I did a search on all the info I could find on the mission that the distress signal Osruesd comes from, I also did a deep search on Steele’s team, please don’t ask me who’s files I had to ‘borrow’ to do that.” Holding his hand up in the classic inverted comma’s symbol as he said it.

“I’ll only deny the conversation ever took place and will swear on a stack of bibles that I left my computer unlocked around you, assholes.”

He continued with. “It turns out that all of Steele’s team have had their military and CIA files closed, all are highly redacted and all are marked MIA as of last Wednesday morning, someone pretty high up the food chain, has to be pulling the strings on this as there is no way a black ops team should be declared MIA after missing just one check in, even if they are on a dark mission for the CIA.” At the chorus of curses, he held his hand up in a classic wait motion.

“During my search into the file and the background for the Osruesd mission, I happened to find a list of tracker skin tags that were to be used in the mission, but the guys never had a chance to activate them.

One of those tags went live at 0530 on Tuesday morning, I’m trying to decrypt the tracker code now, it’s bouncing all over the globe, but I think it is originating in the middle east, probably from deep within the Hindu Kush, somewhere close to the Afghan - Pakistan border region,” Kalon finished up relaying all the intel they knew thus far. Then sat back. Squeezed some eyedrops in and took a drink of coffee from the mug by his elbow.

“Fuck me, Harry,” Jonah groaned, “that’s all we need.”

“First off, my name is not Harry, and even if it was I wouldn’t fuck you if you paid me, as I’m afraid of Matt.” Kalon muttered as he turned back to his screens not noticing all the jaws that had dropped behind him.

“Mine!!!” Matt said clearly, “Even think of touching him that way and I’ll bury you.”

“Holy shit Matt, how did you keep that protective streak you have, one I might add that’s as wide as the Mississippi hidden all those years? If you have said that shit then, we would have all known you guys were doing each other and not just sharing a condo.” Micah’s snarky dig to voice, his displeasure at having been kept in the dark for so long, but you could never be sure if he was over the fact they had lied to him or not.

Matt made a mental note to talk to him later, as he replied.
